Calling a plumber every time you clog the toilet is not only impractical but expensive too. If you reach for the plunger only to find it isn’t handy there are other ways to fix the clog. If the clog is made up of organic matter or toilet paper, it should be easy to remove. Here are the steps you need to take:
• Remove the cover on the tank and disconnect the chain so the valve stays shut
• Fill a cup with hot water (the hotter the better)
• Pour hot water into the toilet and wait for it to dissolve the clog
• If the hot water doesn’t work, add soap
The hot water and soap should break down the clog. If you’ve tried everything and the stubborn clog remains, it’s time to get the plumber on the phone.
